Travel Vaccinations
If you are planning to travel abroad, you may need vaccinations to protect your health while away. Our practice nurse can advise you on what’s required based on your destination and type of travel.
Patient Notice: Book Early – At Least 6 Weeks Before Travel
To ensure you're protected in time, please book your initial travel consultation at least 6 weeks before your departure date.
Your Travel Vaccination Journey:
1. First appointment – Consultation with the practice nurse to review your travel plans and determine which vaccines are needed
2. Second appointment – You’ll receive the vaccinations. This must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before travel to allow the vaccines to take effect.
Some vaccines must be ordered in — they are not held in stock, so planning ahead is essential.
Vaccine | Price per Dose (£) | Doses Required | Total Cost |

Hepatitis B – Adult | £50 | 3 | £150 |
Hepatitis B – Paediatric | £50 | 3 | £150 |

Non NHS Services
GPs are contracted to provide care under the NHS National Service Framework, but not all services requested by patients or third parties fall within this scope.
Many forms, reports, and letters for solicitors, employers, insurance companies, or licensing authorities are not covered by the NHS. These tasks are often carried out outside of normal working hours, and as such, a private fee applies.
In some cases, the patient will be responsible for paying the fee directly.
Private Fees
Service | Fee |
---|---|
Private Sick Note / Fit to Travel Certificate | £10 |
Certificate for Meningitis | £10 |
Passport or Driving Licence Countersignature | £25 |
Holiday Cancellation Form | £30 |
Gun Licence Form | £50 |
Taxi Medical | £100 |
HGV Medical | £120 |
Other forms or requests | Price on request |
Please contact reception if the form or certificate you require is not listed — we’ll be happy to provide a quote.
Note
- Fee must usually be paid in advance or at the time of service
- Waiting times for private work may be longer, as these are completed outside NHS hours
- Not all requests can be fulfilled — we reserve the right to decline requests based on appropriateness or capacity
